The short version

Wealthling is built to work without a server. Your budgets, debts, goals, and net worth figures are stored only on your device. We don't run a backend, we don't collect your financial data, and we don't sell or share it with anyone — because we never have it in the first place.

What stays on your device

All the financial information you enter — accounts, transactions, debts, savings goals, and settings — is stored locally on your phone using the operating system's on-device storage. It is not transmitted to Wealthling or to any third-party server.

Partner sync

If you choose to sync your data with a partner, Wealthling encrypts it end-to-end using a symmetric key that only your two devices know (via the standard NaCl secretbox algorithm). The encrypted data moves through a transport you control directly — such as scanning a QR code or sharing a code between your own devices — not through our servers, because we don't operate any.

Face ID / Touch ID

If you enable app-lock, Wealthling asks iOS to verify your identity using Face ID or Touch ID. Your biometric data is handled entirely by Apple's operating system and never leaves your device or reaches us.

Camera

The camera is used only to scan a partner's pairing QR code during setup. Wealthling does not access your photo library or store camera captures.

Notifications

Reminders (like debt paydown nudges or budget alerts) are scheduled and generated entirely on your device from your local data. We do not use a push-notification service and no notification content is sent to or from a server.

Analytics and advertising

Wealthling does not include analytics SDKs, ad networks, or third-party trackers. We don't know how you use the app beyond what's necessary for it to run on your device.

Your data, your control

Because everything lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your data. There is no account to close and no server-side copy to request the deletion of.

Changes to this policy

If Wealthling's data handling changes in a future update, this page will be updated to reflect it, along with the "Last updated" date above.
